Second Bourbon Classic Features Classes, Competition

The second annual Bourbon Classic held at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts in Louisville Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 included a Friday cocktail challenge and small plates food pairing tasting and competition.

The  weekend event set out to explore the “best of the best” in the authentic world of Bourbon, from the craftsmanship of distilling to enjoying the spirit in various forms.

Saturday included nine classes followed by Bourbon culinary tastings. Classes included Bourbon and Beer – A Beautiful Marriage, Five Essential Ingredients for Your Home’s Bourbon Bar and The Essential Ingredient: Exploring the Creative, Culinary Side of Bourbon.

The Saturday event also included a Q&A session with nine master distillers and MC Fred Minnick.

More than 1,000 Bourbon connoisseurs and enthusiasts had a chance to enjoy some of the finest bourbons the industry offers. Chefs and bartenders backed by distilleries including Angel’s Envy, Blanton’s, Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam, Michter’s, Wild Turkey and Woodford Reserve.
