Wolfgang Puck may be best known as a star chef, but he’s a star in other ways as well. His charitable giving helps nonprofit organizations across the country, including Children’s Diabetes Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundation and Meals on Wheels. Puck is co-chair of Five-Star Sensation, the semi-annual fundraiser for University Hospitals, headquartered in Cleveland.
Another Ohio institution – and the people it serves – benefits from his namesake wine. A portion of the sale of each bottle of Wolfgang Puck wine goes to “Keep Memory Alive,” which supports the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health’s work toward treatments and research of neurocognitive disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, which claimed Puck’s mother, Maria, in 2004.
