Discovering the New World French Trip Highlights

In honor of Columbus Day, Rick Hetzel CSW will be focusing on wine making regions of the New World. More than 525 years ago, in search for new trade routes, Christopher Columbus packed away wine and water in barrels of oak and led a voyage west. Wine was the drink of choice, and not just because the water became stagnated: the alcohol also killed many disease-causing pathogens, and undoubtedly made the long journey more bearable.
