Vinous Perplexities Presented Per Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil

It’s the day after Groundhog Day, as we try to decipher Punxsutawney Phil’s “Groundhogese” predictions about the course of winter in our little corner of the Arctic Circle. Will shadows predict six more weeks of deep freeze, or will a “shadowless sojourn” to the light of day promise the warm embrace of an early spring?  Whatever the verdict, we’ll have wines on hand to both fuel the inner fire against continued winter chills and to, hopefully, ease us into the gentle caress of a wanton, siren spring.
