Tourism season begins in spring as the fishermen arrive to fish in Conneaut Creek and eventually Lake Erie. By May, visitors come for our Memorial Day Parade and arrive in June for the MS Bike Event – Escape to the Lake. Enjoy wonderful July 4th Weekend activities, and then before we know it, August brings the D-Day Re-Enactment and thousands of visitors arrive here for as long as a week! Visitors can find beautiful maps at Information Booths at each. Visitors planning ahead can contact the Ashtabula County Convention and Visitors Bureau for a packet of information. Find out what Ashtabula County and Conneaut have to offer.

Later in the year, there’s the Perch and Pilsner Festival, the Outdoor Learning Center Discovery Day and the Covered Bridge Festival! When there’s not an event, there’s plenty to visit in this beautiful area – Lake Erie, Conneaut Creek, our Covered Bridges, three award-winning wineries, museums which are open through Labor Day, Raceway 7, the beautiful, scenic South County with its wonderful produce, Amish influence and so much more. Don’t forget to check out the Port of Conneaut and the bird observatory platforms. Conneaut is a fly-by for many migrating species of birds. One can hike around Conneaut Creek at Indian Mound Metropark or walk trails established by deer at the Outdoor Learning Center. While there, check out their award-winning pollinator gardens. We have many Metroparks to visit as well with easy-to-walk trails!

No visit to Conneaut is complete without stopping at our three wineries!  Buccia Vineyard Winery and B&B, Markko Vineyard and Tarsitano Winery are proud to call the Conneaut Creek region home.  All three wineries grow grapes on their properties and produce estate wines. Visitors from near and far enjoy strolls in the picturesque vineyards, musical entertainment, light fare and award-winning wines.  Check their facebook pages for the latest happenings.

Our fall foliage is comparable to that of New England and you’ll find lots of pumpkins and other fall produce at our Farmers Market that is open through mid-October and at farms throughout South County. Our farmers produce amazing local honey and Maple Syrup as well. Enjoy the fall grape harvest and wonderful wines at our three wineries that are open just about year around. Winter is a treat in Conneaut! Perhaps you’ll see our frozen Lake Erie, drive through the covered bridges in the snow or enjoy many winter in-door events including a meal at one of our wonderful restaurants or a glass of wine around a fire! Snowmobiling, ice fishing and cross-country skiing are also popular winter outdoor activities.

The Conneaut Convention and Business Bureau is always here to help you out regardless of the season you choose to visit. Catch up with what’s going on through Facebook, Instagram or our website, grab a map or print one off the website and enjoy – life’s just better here and we want you to visit and find out why!

You can find our attractions, events, restaurants, museums, lodgings and more at Ohio.org – just type “Conneaut” in the search bar and see all that we have to offer in all seasons!
