Rosé has its place year-round, but summer just seems to bring out the best in these refreshing wines. Generally, rosé is made by allowing the skins of red grapes to have contact with the juice (which is white) long enough to impart the desired color. Southern France, especially Provence and the Languedoc-Roussillon regions, makes much rosé, in which Grenache plays a prominent role. Spain, too, produces rosé (often labeled “Rosado”) in significant amounts. Here are some delicious, economical pink wines for your summer table.
