Fuller’s Vintage Ale (2009)

Fuller’s Brewery in London makes a range of beers, from London Pride to Chiswick. The prettiest packaging of all is reserved for their limited vintage ale releases, which began in 1997. A winter ale that’s not overpowering (8.5 % ABV), it’s copper-colored with a bready, toffy malt nose. We tasted bottle no. 129192 in late 2010. The hops had retreated and caramelly, raisiny flavors lingered. Fuller’s recommends laying down this one 3-4 years and drinking at cellar temperature.
